I am of the belief that art does not need to have a meaning to it. Some art can be created with a particular message, whether it is obvious or hidden, but what is wrong with art being created for art's sake? I like what Frank Stella said, "What you see is what you see."
A person should be able to look at an artwork and have it mean something completely different than what the artist had meant, if any at all. A person doesn't need to have some philosophical reason as to why a particular artwork appeals to him or her. Instead, he or she can enjoy the piece simply because of the visual beauty of the artwork.
Enjoy the art and create your own meaning!
