American Hysteria - Digital Reinterpretation | Geometric Art Print
from $35.00
"American Hysteria" is a digital reinterpretation of my original 2018 gel pen artwork completed on September 13, 2018. This version preserves the original radial composition while dramatically transforming its background, contrast, color relationships, and surface texture.
Bright red forms radiate outward from a small central opening, surrounded by a second field of larger turquoise and blue forms extending toward the edges. Against the deep black background, pale irregular borders sharply separate the individual elements and intensify the sense of expansion from the center.
The digital treatment transforms the original gel-pen scribbling into highly textured fields filled with granular color and intricate remnants of the hand-drawn marks. Irregular light edges emphasize the energetic boundaries of each form, while the black negative space creates a much stronger separation between the radiating elements than in the original artwork.
Although its visual character has changed considerably, "American Hysteria" retains the repetition, radial structure, and energetic movement of the original composition. The reinterpretation pushes those qualities further through heightened contrast and transformed texture, creating a bolder and more dramatic expression of the same underlying geometry.
An exploration of radial movement, repetition, saturated color, dramatic contrast, and the digital transformation of hand-drawn texture.
