"Find the Good" is a digital reinterpretation of my original 2018 gel pen artwork completed on September 13, 2018. This version preserves the symmetrical, face-like composition of the original while dramatically transforming its color, contrast, and surface texture. Brilliant yellow dominates the composition, surrounding paired circular forms and repeated horizontal structures rendered in vivid orange and red. A deep blue vertical axis divides the image and provides a strong contrasting element, reinforcing the bilateral symmetry and helping the individual geometric forms resolve into the suggestion of a face. The digital transformation substantially changes the character of the original gel-pen marks. Dense scribbled fields become highly granular, almost stippled areas of color, while softened and irregular boundaries allow the underlying structure to emerge through layers of texture. Viewed from a distance, the face-like arrangement becomes prominent; closer inspection reveals a complex surface filled with fragmented marks and shifting color. Although visually very different from the original, "Find the Good" retains its underlying geometry, symmetry, repetition, and balance between abstraction and recognizable imagery. The reinterpretation demonstrates how dramatically a familiar composition can change through digital manipulation while its essential structure remains intact.
